MOST OF US DONATE CLOTHES with the intention and expectation that it “goes to a good home,” but the sad truth is 80% of clothing donations enter the global fashion “recycling” landscaping and do not find a new life locally. The growing global textile and fashion “waste” crisis is why we exist.

WE ARE TEXTILE SCAVENGERS on a mission to reduce the impact of the fashion and textile industry through local reuse and recirculation. We seek to rethink circularity and extend the life of the most sustainable clothes: the ones that already exist.

IN A NUT SHELL, We provide ALL-INCLUSIVE CLOTHING COLLECTION and make it our business to ensure responsible redistribution and reuse.

WE TAKE CLEAN CLOTHES IN ANY CONDITION

Fine Print: We exist on a spectrum, just like the clothes in your closet. If you are ready to depart with them, we will take them no matter their condition. Our recirculation network includes mutual aid, non-profit, and organizational partners that help us redistribute and recirculate clothes as locally as possible; reducing impact by/and increasing lifespan. Usable clothing enters the recirculation network, while unusable materials support engagement activities and ongoing research and development for circularity.

  • Starting at $30, curb-side clothing collection services can be scheduled on annual, semi-annual, or quarterly basis for your self, or entire family.

    Are we more expensive than dropping at the Goodwill or Arc for free-99? Yes. Obviously! But, you are paying us to take full responsibility for your clothes and where they end up. And if that’s not priceless, it’s definitely worth something

  • $500, 4 hours of one-on-one support to mindfully assess your wardrobe and identify the clothes you love and the ones you are ready to part with.

    Includes early-bird entry to redistribution events for a year.

  • One Time Collection and Distribution Event (see also: “clothing swap,” and see also TB written “Why I Hate the Word “SWAP” post about our “swaps”;

    6 hours, 2-3 staff facilitating; collection to take place during first hour; participants to help with sorting and merchandising

  • 4 Week Clothes Collection

    All-inclusive clothing collection open to staff and their families.

    Additionally, each week staff will receive an educational newsletter/video (TBD format/negotiable) about why Vulture Collective exists, and how individuals and communities can help to make an impact.

    Fees include all-inclusive clothing collection; sorting and handling labor hours; admin and metrics tracking; and other overhead and administrative costs; and sponsorship rights for distribution events.

    **Additional Engagement Activities are available a la carte and custom tailored.

  • Our fees are calculated mainly with the cost of labor in mind. Sorting through piles of old clothes can be a dirty, stinky, hairy job and we value the cost of human labor.

    We are happy to provide transparent invoices and any other metrics desired by yourself or your group.

  • We are here to support community partners aligned with our values of equity, inclusion, accessibility, and of course, sustainability. We offer reduced rates to non-profits, so let’s talk about your needs, and we will find the best way to support each other.
